PU Joint Backer Rod is a round, open-cell polyurethane foam profile primarily used for filling construction and expansion joints before sealant application. It can also be used as a draught-exclusion strip.
Applications:
- Filling joints in construction and industrial applications.
- Particularly suitable for joints that are not subject to mechanical loads.
Properties:
- Highly flexible with good compressive strength and tear resistance.
- Good resistance to many chemical products, mild acids and alkalis, and especially to commonly used sealants based on silicone, polyurethane, polysulphide and acrylic.
- Do not expose to direct sunlight.
- Open-cell structure prevents air entrapment during application.
- Accommodates expansion and contraction of materials.
- Made from CFC-free polyurethane foam.
